Yeah crazy right? The color is called "how sweet it is"......

Okay on to the next table/bench.  Still not sure about this.....

come on spring!!!

Mother Nature has been playing mind games with us Southerners.  This last week has given me spring fever!! I am ready for some warmer weather and have been putting away my winter decor.  Here is just a sampling of what I have been up to.....making rosette pins...
These are upcycled from clothing and vintage jewelry.

Had to put out a few springy thingies.
How about those link letters?? I have plans for those later too!!
I got the whole box for "fi -T cent".

I've also been working on this bench/table. (Not finished but on it's way!)
Okay, back to reality tomorrow! I asked my Mr. Brilliant if I could be a stay at home mom.  He said no.  (I think it is because our son is in college.  Ya think?)  I tried.
Peace my friends.

I heart 3 day weekends

I lurve a 3 day weekend!! Especially one in which the weather is nice enough that people are out selling their junk treasures!!  I made a few rounds this morning hoping to score a few pieces of furniture to paint.  Here is what I found.....
I bought this already painted because I liked  it and the price was right. I added my own touches and it will be resold. (Skippy loves the camera and my furniture.)
This is a very sweet bench/table.  It is getting a paint job this weekend.
This one has a twin and sorry to say they are going to be separated, as one has been sold.  This one is going to get an extreme makeover.
The small black table just needed some minor changes.
I distressed the table a bit and added  chalkboard contact paper to the top. (side bar here: This was after a failed attempt at decoupaging the top with a super cute black and white damask print....insert frowny face here.. but just for a minute.)
                                                      So what do you think???................

Here is a blurry before picture of the owl trivet, too....
Now that I have a few more projects to do, I must get to work.....however,

Peace my friends!!! (disclaimer: Although I am a teacher, I reserve the right to misspell words, use as many exclamation marks as I want, and make major writing blunders as I see fit for the purpose of entertaining others as well as myself. Hey it is MY blog!!! Thank you and Amen.)

Randomness

I haven't posted in a while due to tendinitis in my right wrist/thumb.  It is snowing here and I did not have school today. So I have take off the brace to type and post some randomness or rando moments as my son likes to say.  One rando photo is of him helping hand out pink roses to breast cancer survivors at a recent women's basketball game.  This was an awesome event and the ladies looked great in their pink and white uniforms!! (He is the manager for the team while he is in college pursuing his coaching degree.)

And speaking of pink...I got this great quilt at a benefit auction for a 3 year old boy waiting on a heart transplant.  In our little town (pop. 900) over $25,000 was raised.
On to more randomness.....
Recent finds
Two new/old thermos(es) for my collection. (50 cents each...yeah), a hammered aluminum ice bucket ($1), 13 seafood forks ($2), small sewing kit (sometimes hot glue won't do...okay well most of the time it will),  a great embroidery piece ($1) that I am having made (yep, because I can ONLY hot glue) into a pillow for the cottage, and this small black table that is going to get a new paint job.

I have had the brace off long enough and as I am trying to avoid a painful steroid injection need to put it on again. So here is my last rando moment...
I told him to shutup and he is now locked in the closet until next winter.  Peace my friends!!
